Q&A

Anytime you are entering into a transaction that involves a significant sum of money, there is bound to be some concern on the buyer’s part – especially if they aren’t familiar with the person they are buying. Add in the fact that it’s an online purchase, and you really start to wonder if it’s a good idea.

I’d like to try to allay any fears or concerns you may have. First and foremost, any transaction that we complete will be through the Flippa system, giving you the protections they provide. In addition, the only method of payment I accept is PayPal, which gives you another layer of protection.

I know that while many may have few reservations about buying a website online, they may still have questions they’d like answers to prior to making a purchase. For that reason, I’ve included a number of FAQ’s here on this page. Of course if you’ve got a question that you don’t see answered here, be sure to shoot me a PM on Flippa and let me know.

Now, for the FAQ’s.

1. Why should I buy a website from you instead of someone else who is selling a similar website on Flippa?

I’ve got over 30 years experience in owning and operating my own businesses – including multiple McDonald’s Restaurants. As such, I have a full understanding of how important customer service / support is and go to great lengths to ensure my customers are happy with their purchase. I do this by providing prompt responses to support requests and by providing a dedicated support website – complete with numerous how to videos.

2. Aren’t you concerned that by selling multiple sites that have a similar look and feel that you’ll be putting your customers at a disadvantage?

Absolutely not. In the case of most websites, this would absolutely be a concern. But in this business, SEO is NOT a concern because the methods you’ll use to promote your business have nothing to do with SEO. Sure, it would be great to have your site listed on page one for the services you offer, but the reality is that the competition of for the keywords associated with these types of sites is out of sight. It would likely take you months or even years to get ranked on page one for the terms associated with these type of sites. By focusing on other marketing methods, you’ll be banking money in short order instead of banging your head against the wall trying to rank your site.

It makes no difference how many of these sites are out there because there is such a high demand for the services we offer. It all comes down to how well you are able to market your site via the alternative methods that are extremely successful when applied correctly.

3. How many services should I offer?

This all depends on your preference. Some prefer to focus on one service. Others want to be a one stop shop. Still others simply want to have access to wholesale prices for a particular service they have an interest in. I can provide you with a site that offers one service, or one that offers as many as twelve services. The decision is completely up to you.

4. How many providers do you use for your websites?

While I have access to many different providers, most of the sites I build have a maximum of 5, but I use one particular provider that offers most of the services you see on my sites. The main provider has been in business since 2005, and has been incredibly reliable while offering very competitive prices. Another really big plus of this provider is that the customer ordering and placement is fully automated. This means this business can be completely hands off if you keep inventory of various services in your account.

5. Are there any other costs associated with purchasing a website from you?

Initially, there are no additional fees. All of my sites offered via private sale include 12 months of hosting at no additional charge. For the 13th month on, the cost is $60 a year, paid in advance. Other costs that you would pay to other providers would be for marketing efforts you choose to undertake. However, there are a number of marketing methods that will not cost you a dime.

6. Do you earn anything from my efforts?

No. Once we complete our transaction, our financial relationship ends. Our business relationship continues in terms of support, of course, but I earn no commissions through your sales efforts – or via any other component of your business. My interest is only in selling websites.

7. What service is easiest to sell?

This all depends on what you are most comfortable with marketing and the audience you are marketing to. For example, you may have a connection to the Direct Marketing world. If so, the Guaranteed Signups service would be a great option. Or, maybe your approach is going to be a broader one. Marketing forums are great places to connect with others in the IM business because they will have a need for all of your services.

8. Do I have to wait for an auction to purchase one of your websites?

No, absolutely not. Feel free to take a look around this site. If you find a design you like, determine how many services you’d like and let me know via the Flippa PM system. I will then build the site for you and post it as a private auction, so you will be the only one involved in the sale. This eliminates the hassle of dealing with the auction format. Of course, you can also ask me to post a particular site design with the services you are interest in as a public auction as well. I will post it as soon as I am able to fit it into my schedule.
